The Fish Heads Ink Gallery
current techniques and mediums
Fluid acrylic is a highly pigmented acrylic paint product with an easily flowing thin, but concentrated, consistency. It allows for a smooth yet intensely vibrant and permanent color application.
These new works are collages of interesting and relevant papers which are then embellished with a hand drawn ink subject, usually a flower or a fish.
Alcohol Ink is a medium that involves a pigment suspension in an alcohol base. This unique medium generates vibrant color but must be used on a non-porous surface. these pieces are hand painted on yupo which is mounted on a wooden substrate. Completed paintings are fully coated with a light resistant caoting to prevent fading.
Mixed media blends different techniques and materials together in order to create one unique piece. It allows us to journey past the inherent limitations of a single medium. This can include digital images with other mediums such as alcohol ink and acrylic.
This Gallery is a showcase of currently available original work. These pieces are executed in four distinct mediums.
Each medium is presented on either a substrate of .75" cradled wood, 1.5" cradled wood or 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas.
Most images may be purchased as matted prints or cards by special order. Please contact via email with questions or to purchase.
